L'Oréal Türkiye once again underlined its sustainability vision as part of World Earth Day on 22 April. Bringing science and technology together in line with its "L'Oréal for the Future" program, the company aims to promote a concept of beauty that respects the planet's boundaries.

The company, which directly contributes to 16 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, focuses on reducing environmental impacts across processes ranging from packaging to product development. According to research, 6 out of every 10 people want to lead a sustainable life but do not know how to proceed. This situation increases companies' responsibility to guide consumers.

Technology-driven transformation in sustainability
L'Oréal Turkey supports consumers in making more informed choices through technologies that provide water and energy savings, refillable products and environmental labelling systems. The company aims to scale transformation by combining global sustainability targets with local implementation.

İrem Karaoda Tanrıkulu, Director of Corporate Relations and Engagement and Country Sustainability Leader at L'Oréal Turkey, stated that they have placed sustainability at the centre of all business processes, saying, "Using science and technology, we are transforming beauty routines into an experience that creates value for the planet."

Tangible impact through tech-beauty solutions
Among the innovative solutions developed by the company are technologies that reduce energy consumption during hair drying processes and professional systems that provide water savings. Water-saving technologies used particularly in hair salons provide significant resource efficiency.

Waste reduction through refill products
L'Oréal's refillable product portfolio significantly reduces packaging use while also offering cost advantages to consumers. This approach contributes to the expansion of the circular economy model. The company aims to reduce plastic use by 2030 and increase the proportion of recycled material in its packaging.

Circular transformation in packaging
While the company is scaling the use of recycled and bio-based materials in its packaging, it prioritises reducing plastic consumption at source. A number of product categories have already achieved 100% recycled plastic use.

Consumer expectations accelerating transformation
Research shows that a significant proportion of consumers want to know about the environmental impacts of the products they purchase. In this direction, L'Oréal aims to increase consumer awareness through labelling systems that transparently present the environmental impacts of products.

Green science and plastic-free delivery
Developing more sustainable formulations through a "Green Science" approach, the company is reducing its environmental impact by also reducing plastic use in e-commerce processes. Through these practices, a more sustainable model is being created in both production and consumption processes.
