EGİAD Provides First Aid Training After Earthquake

EGİAD Provides Post-Earthquake First Aid Training EGİAD Ege Genç İş İnsanları Derneği, in cooperation with member Özgür Akgül's company Deltaş Özel Güvenlik, organized First Aid Training for the business community. In theoretical and practical training sessions, techniques related to cardiac massage and the Heimlich maneuver were demonstrated. During the training, where some business representatives serving as volunteer students also practiced the techniques, initial steps to be taken in relation to the recent earthquake were also shown. The training also covered topics including basic life support for patients and the injured, bleeding, wounds, burns, frostbite and heat stroke, fractures, dislocations and sprains. Speaking at the training, EGİAD Chairman Alp Avni Yelkenbiçer explained that trainings aimed at informing the business world would continue, adding: "As EGİAD, we support all types of first aid training. Recent earthquakes and disasters have shown that first aid is an emergency intervention procedure that everyone needs to know. We place importance on raising awareness in the business world in this regard. We provided first aid training at this point and these trainings will continue." Retired nurse Dilek Aylanç, who conducted the training, emphasized that drug-free interventions by health professionals until they arrive at accident and emergency situations save lives, and delivered a detailed presentation on topics including basic life support, airway and respiratory obstruction, altered consciousness, bleeding, frostbite, heat stroke and poisoning.
