"Colorful DYOloglar" in Science, Art and Architecture Starts on 1 March
DYO Paints and AURA are collaborating to organize a panel themed around "colour" at Yaşar University in Izmir, bringing together architects, designers and building-product manufacturers on a shared platform. The panel will begin at 14:00 on Friday, 1 March.
AURA Focus Series convenes architects, designers and building-product manufacturers on a shared platform, and in collaboration with DYO Paints will address the theme of "colour" for the first time. The panel in Izmir will be moderated by Architect Yılmaz Değer, one of the founders of AURA-Istanbul. Architect Sibel Ertez Ural, Artist Serhat Kiraz and Architect Nevzat Sayın will also participate as speakers. At this panel, "colour" will be examined by subject-matter experts through the disciplines of art and architecture.
The first panelist, Architect Sibel Ertez Ural, will present on "Colour Science", discussing the nature and philosophy of colour, and the relationship between new technologies, science and architecture. The second panelist, Artist Serhat Kiraz, will share his work on colour throughout his artistic career, and the methods and perspectives he has used to address colour in his work.
When used like punctuation marks in a text, colour becomes an inseparable part of architecture. Architect Nevzat Sayın notes that colour provides an extraordinary opportunity for drawing attention, defining form, making function legible, making the invisible visible and establishing part-to-whole relationships.
In his presentation "Colour in Architecture", Architect Nevzat Sayın will explain through examples how colours are used in architecture, drawing on structures designed by NSMH.
