Medcem Çimento Grubu, a subsidiary of Eren Holding and operator of Turkey and Europe's largest cement factory, commenced operations at its new investment at Sheerness Port, located east of London, as of August 2024. This significant investment is presented as part of the company's global growth strategy and is regarded as an important step in strengthening its operations in the UK market. Following the successful completion of the first ash shipment, cement shipments were announced to begin within September.
