For 25 years, Petroyağ has supplied Turkish industry with industrial oils and lubricants tailored to various applications. Its sister company Proil, launched in 2015, operates as both manufacturer and supplier in the oleochemistry sector, serving numerous industries producing in Turkey and neighbouring regions. With an experienced R&D team, production staff and sales force skilled in sustainable, standardized and certified production processes, Proil maintains a leading position in the sector, offering innovative and competitive products to its customers.

Strong R&D

For Proil, developing bio-based products as alternatives to petroleum derivatives—and potentially unlocking new production capabilities—holds great importance as consumer demands evolve. The company's main areas of operation can be summarized as follows: processing aids that simplify food industry applications, mould release agents, conveyor oils, greases and coating materials. We can also cite versatile specialty fatty acid esters with high solvent capacity, dispersive properties, organic compatibility, biological compatibility and stability against environmental factors (heat, light, metals, etc.), non-corrosive and usable as food additives; specific alcohol esters serving as softeners, moisturisers, solvents and emulsifiers in cosmetics; and amides with specialized applications such as in the asphalt sector. Proil develops oleochemical solutions needed by many sectors—from food to cosmetics, from pharmaceuticals to printing, from aluminium to asphalt—in its own R&D centre and manufactures them at its facility in GOSB.

Distribution Network Spanning 3 Continents

Beyond developing world-standard products, Proil serves customers not only in Turkey but across 3 continents through its international distribution network. Drawing on Petroyağ's customer portfolio, Proil advances rapidly in project execution, development and sales both domestically and internationally, benefiting from Petroyağ's 25 years of accumulated expertise. Through global business partnerships and strategic alliances, Proil markets not only its own developed products but also handles distribution of numerous specialty oleochemical products according to customer requirements. Thanks to both its high production capacity and strong distribution network, Proil minimizes delivery times for all oleochemical products and prevents disruptions to customers' production.

Import Dependency Declining

Through its experienced team, advanced R&D centre, production capability and capacity, Proil provides customers not only with bio-based products but acts as a solution partner helping them adapt to changing market conditions and trends. As an example, we executed a joint project with a global printing inks manufacturer. By producing their imported raw material requirement at our facilities, we enabled domestic procurement and cost advantages. For one of the sector's leading asphalt companies, we produced a product previously 100% import-dependent in Turkey, reducing their import dependency to 5%. We created added value for the company. We have also begun work on exporting this product and plan to enter target markets shortly. Beyond these projects, we have been working for nearly a year on producing a 100% specialty fatty acid ester previously not manufactured in Turkey and entirely import-dependent. We have already made investments in reactor and purification equipment for this purpose.
